Baby Eli Thompson was born on March 4, 2015 with an extremely rare birth defect that left him without a nose.
Eli Thompson underwent a tracheotomy to help make breathing and feeding easier.
Before Eli Thompson was born, his father joke he hoped he wouldn't pass on his nose to his new son.
Eli Thompson sleeps peacefully in his mother's arms.
Mother Brandi McGlathery calls her son 'perfect the way he is.'
Eli Thompson will have to wait until puberty before he can have his nasal passageways rebuilt. Until then, his mother wants to spare him unnecessary surgeries.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Shortly after giving birth to a baby boy, a mother discovered her son was born without a nose and later said "he's perfect the way he is."
