SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Traffic backups are expected along San Francisco's Van Ness Avenue Sunday, where crews are working to install a pedestrian tunnel for the new California Pacific Medical Center.

The closure affects Van Ness between Post Street and Geary Boulevard.

The tunnel under Van Ness will connect the new hospital to the medical office building.

The tunnel is expected to re-open at 12 a.m. on Monday.
