San Leandro police arrest 4 suspects after neighborhood search

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- A short police chase in San Leandro Wednesday evening ended with the arrest of four men accused of robbing a man and stealing a car.

The four suspects crashed the stolen car on Dutton Avenue and then ran away. Within a short time, police caught them all.

The search was conducted in the area from Dutton Avenue to Glen Drive and from MacArthur Boulevard to Chetland Avenue, police said just before 5:30 p.m.

During the search, authorities used a loudspeaker to tell neighbors to stay in their homes while they used a K-9 to catch the last suspect.

Police announced that all four suspects had been taken into custody as of 6:15 p.m.
