SONOMA, Calif. (KGO) -- A driver was taken into custody Thursday night after leading Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputies on a chase that reached over 100 miles per hour.

The driver took several exits before getting back on the freeway each time.

Finally, the driver hit the median of 101 about two miles south of the Sonoma-Marin county line.

Officers with guns drawn eventually coaxed the driver out.

It's not known what initiated the chase, nor why the driver tried to outrun authorities.
