All Butte Fire evacuations in Calaveras County lifted

CALAVERAS COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- The Butte Fire burning in Gold Country has destroyed an additional 250 homes, bringing the total residences destroyed to more than 500.

The first is burning in Amador and Calaveras counties and has charred more than 70,000 acres.

It's now 70 percent contained and Cal Fire announced that all mandatory evacuations in Calaveras County have now been lifted.
