PARIS (KGO) -- Alain Robert, who's known as France's Spiderman, climbed a 689-foot tower in Paris Tuesday, without using any ropes or equipment, just his hands.

He called it an act of solidarity with the victims of Saturday's earthquake in Nepal.

Robert has climbed some of the world's tallest and best known structures including the Golden Gate Bridge and the Eiffel Tower in 1996, as well as Tapei 101, which was the world's tallest building when it opened in 2004.
