Alameda County firefighters head to Ventura County to help with Thomas Fire

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- An East Bay strike team is headed to Southern California to help fight with Thomas Fire in Ventura County.

Alameda County Fire tweeted video and photos of crews leaving town around five this morning.


Their firefighters are joined by others from Marin County, Fremont, Hayward and Oakland.

In addition to extra manpower, the strike team is also bringing extra equipment for the front lines - including several fire rigs.
