SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Bay Area activists are trying to draw attention to the Armenian genocide having once again placed a banner on Yerba Buena Island.

The sign went up right above the tunnel connecting the East Bay to San Francisco.
The U.S. has said 1.5 million Armenians were deported and killed but it has not declared that massacre or genocide.

Activists say the location for the banner, with 250,000 cars, trucks and buses passing through is the perfect place to build a bridge of awareness.
