Suspect shot at police officer near Hayward BART station

The Hayward BART station has been closed after officials say shots were fired in the area. Trains are currently going through the station but not stopping. Bus service has also been halted.

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- BART says service at the Hayward station will be back to normal this morning after a man shot at a police officer.

Police say they were investigating a different shooting last night, when a man shot at a Hayward officer near the station.

Neither Hayward nor BART police shot back. Riders experienced major delays as police investigated the incident.

No one was hurt.

One suspect has been arrested.
