Old Skool Cafe launches Gospel Brunch
Bayview's Old Skool Café is known for their soul-satisfying comfort food and helping out at-risk teens. Now the jazz club is offering something new, a gospel brunch.

"We're a youth run supper club for youth ages 16 to 22. We work with kids that are coming out of incarceration or foster care, or youth that have any type of barrier to having a really great future," said Program Manager Lisa Litsey.

The young adults do it all at Old Skool Cafe from cooking to waiting tables. Some even provide the entertainment. It's a full non-profit, so every dollar you spend at the restaurant goes back into the program.

"Great food, good entertainment and really a great atmosphere," Litsey added.

Healthfest featuring Kevin Hart at Justin Herman Plaza
You can burn off some of those brunch calories at Valley Health Fest Saturday at Justin Herman Plaza. Comedian Kevin Hart will be there and you can have some healthy snacks, group exercise classes and a special kids zone.

"Hater's Roast: The Shady Tour"
If push-ups and jumping jacks aren't your thing, you can throw some shade instead. Some of your favorite queens from Ru Paul's Drag race will be at the Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina Friday night for "Hater's Roast: The Shady Tour."

MORE TO DO: Enjoy the weekend, and don't forget to check out Hoodline's events calendar for more ideas.
