Investigation into what caused truck to plummet off cliff near Bodega Bay

BODEGA BAY, Calif (KGO) -- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a pickup to plunge down a cliff off Highway One near Bodega Bay.

One person is dead following the fiery crash about 90 feet from the roadway.

Bodega Bay firefighters were called out early Monday morning for reports of a burning vehicle on Salmon Creek Beach North. Officers found a body in the overturned vehicle.

The CHP temporarily closed Northbound Highway One at Salmon Creek to remove the vehicle.
