Scene clear after reported bomb threat against Richmond Police Dept.

RICHMOND, Calif. -- A bomb threat received at the Richmond Police Department Friday evening forced the evacuation its headquarters and communications center, in addition to nearby neighborhoods and businesses, police said.

Police said the threat was called, police said on social media at about 7:50 p.m.

The affected areas includeD 27th Street, the 2700 block of Nevin Avenue, and the 2700 block of Macdonald Ave, which are located near the
city's civic center. Residents on Jetty Drive, located adjacent to the Police Department's Headquarters, had also been evacuated, according to police.

Police cleared the communication center shortly after 9 p.m. While it was being searched, the mobile command unit fielded 911 calls. There was no delay of service during the threat.
