SAN RAFAEL,Calif. (KGO) -- The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge is closed due to falling concrete chunks... again.

One lane was reopened in both directions after happened earlier this morning. Then - more falling debris.

Drivers who heard a lane was back open are now stuck and unable to access the bridge, and traffic is piling up across the Bay Area as commuters seek alternate routes home.

For example, Highway 37 is moving at a pace of about 2-5 mph.

Traffic throughout Marin is practically at a standstill, according to San Rafael Police:


The issue may get worse for tomorrow morning's commute.
