2 shot, critically injured in daytime attack at Castro Valley apartment, sheriff says

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Two people were shot Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in Castro Valley, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened around 9:15 a.m. when deputies responded to the 22400 block of Center Street for multiple reports of a shooting. Officials said that deputies arrived on the scene and located two adult males suffering from serious gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported the victims to an area hospital when they arrived on the scene.

The sheriff's office said that it does not currently have a motive for the shooting, but it is believed the suspects and victims had an encounter in the exterior car port area of the apartment building.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and detectives are working to identify them.



Detectives are still investigating the scene of the crime.
