It happened in the bottom floor of the house where the victim lived with her boyfriend.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Ariana Hatami, suffering from severe injuries.
Hatami was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she died from her injuries a short time later.
Investigators believe her boyfriend Frederick Tran hit her with a bottle.
Officers arrested him at the scene on suspicion of murder. "The case is under investigation. Tran moved in not long ago, while Hatami started living there about two years ago when she started attending San Francisco State University.
The couple worked at a Wells Fargo branch together as well.
Neighbors told ABC7 News the police have been to the home a few times. Many thought there was a history of domestic violence, so they are very saddened to hear about this incident.
Police are continuing to investigate the homicide and asking anyone with information to contact Daly City police Detective Brandon Scholes at (650) 991-8172.
