OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Some waited six hours outside the BevMo store at Oakland's Jack London Square for a chance to meet Gerald Earl Gillum, better known as G-Eazy.

"I haven't had a favorite rapper since Tupac, I love G-Eazy and his lyrics, he's so real," said fan Jonathan Rodriguez.

Hundreds of fans lined up around the block for a chance to meet the Oakland rapper, who's career is on a fast track.
G-Eazy was promoting Stillhouse whiskey, a brand he's invested in.

"First things first, it's always important to come back home. Every time I get tired or exhausted I think about those people who care about what I'm doing and that's everything to me," said G-Eazy.

The rapper who played Oracle arena last December says today was a full circle moment.

"I used to sell my CDs out of a backpack near this BevMo, it's wild to think about," G-Eazy added.
