As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, the California Highway Patrol said lanes were still closed but they expect westbound lanes to reopen around 5 p.m. As for eastbound traffic, CHP said those lanes weren't expected to reopen until further in the evening.

The crash was first reported Friday, just after 6 a.m. near North 1st Street in San Jose.

The crane was traveling in westbound lanes of Hwy 237 when it flipped over the center divider and into eastbound lanes, the CHP said. Officials say the crane driver somehow lost control and the crash caused another collision moments later, with the drivers suffering only minor injuries.

A second crane had to be called in to lift the fallen one. The clean-up took hours since approximately 100-gallons of fuel was spilled.
