Students with special needs study horticulture at Livermore's Las Positas College

LIVERMORE, Calif. (KGO) -- How does your garden grow? Students with special needs learned about horticulture at Las Positas College in Livermore on Tuesday.

They were taught how to plant seeds and maintain existing plants and gardens.

This is the start of a week-long program focusing on vocational training, horticulture therapy and experience with learning at a college campus. The class is already full.

There are hopes to expand this into a year-long program for the upcoming school year.
