Oakland's MacArthur BART station opened after 'major medical emergency'

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The MacArthur BART station is now open after it was closed for almost an hour on Wednesday. Officials say a person has been rescued from the trackway and is receiving care.

BART first announced that trains were not stopping at MacArthur station in any direction around 5 p.m.

At 5:40 p.m., the agency revealed that a person was rescued from the tracks.



Mutual Aid was available on AC transit buses 51, 51A and 72 between 19th St and MacArthur.

The agency says to expect major delays on the Richmond line in the Berryessa, Richmond and Millbrae directions.
