Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg to provide Congress contents of ads bought by Russian agency

MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- Silicon Valley Congressman, Rep. Ro Khanna, said he's glad Facebook is turning over some 3,000 ads-linked to the Russian government-- to congressional investigators because it shows transparency. He says the country needs more cooperation between intelligence agencies and tech leaders. He calls the situation, "A new problem for our democracy."

"We need better ways of going after bots, the fake accounts and going after fake news. I'm glad to see Facebook has taken some of these actions," said Khanna.

Rep. Khanna is among those in Congress who wants to form an independent committee that looks at Russia's interference in the election so they can get to the bottom of it and take steps to prevent it.
