DANVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- Friday may be Cinco de Mayo, but Thursday is also a holiday, if you happen to be a "Star Wars" fan.

It's May 4, as in "May the force be with you." The force was exceptionally strong in the faraway galaxy of Danville.

For two years now, Danville's recreation manager has been building May the Fourth into a town holiday. "We actually have people coming from out of town to come visit us as well," Henry Perezalonso said.

There's a Cantina crawl, "Star Wars" scavenger hunt, and kids flooding the library looking for BB-8.
