Child hospitalized as search continues for missing man along Half Moon Bay coast: authorities

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 54-year-old man reported missing on Martin's Beach in Half Moon Bay.

Fire officials and the coast guard responded to a call about two people at the beach being swept away Saturday afternoon.

A 5-year-old girl was rescued by San Mateo County Fire personnel, the coast guard said.

CAL FIRE later told ABC7 News the girl was taken to Stanford.

There is no word on the condition of the girl.

This comes as a Beach Hazard Statement was issued for the coast through Sunday morning.
