The San Jose Public Library donated 300 books after they heard about the huge loss the school suffered earlier this month. "I was horrified, really broken, it really crushed me that someone could come in and take the safety net from these kids," Montessori School owner Joyce Brown said.

A suspect apparently ransacked the school, destroyed rooms, furniture and windows. The school had planned a party that day to promote literacy, but instead they had to close.
The San Jose Public Library watched ABC 7 News' story on the damage and pitched in to help. "It was amazing, the kids were so excited, they watched the big truck pull up and sat down on the playground and watched all the books get carried in and one of the librarians read a story to them it was really wonderful," Brown said.
The generosity also did wonders for the children as many felt sad and didn't understand why someone would want to hurt their school. "Our school has the most books in the world," student Jacob Wilner said.
