The mountain lion was apparently darted twice by Department of Fish and Wildlife officers, and the sex of the animal has not been revealed.

Authorities received a call at 10 a.m. after someone spotted the animal in the neighborhood.

Officials suggest talking or singing if you should find yourself near a mountain lion to make your presence known. If you do come face to face with a mountain lion, wave your arms, make loud noises and never run away.
They also say mountain lion attacks on people are extremely rare.
