SAN FRANCISCO -- A shelter-in-place advisory in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood Monday morning was prompted by a suicide attempt but the advisory has since been lifted, police said.

The city's Department of Emergency Management wrote on Twitter at 11:18 a.m. about police activity in the area of Oak Street between Webster and Buchanan streets and advised people to avoid the area or shelter in place.
