Full complaints against Ghost Ship warehouse released

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf announced Tuesday that the city is compiling all the public records related to the Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse and the vacant lot next door and released the records to the city's website.

New information and photos showing some of the records involving the warehouse known as the Ghost Ship and the vacant lot next door show complaints, notices of violation and letters from the daughter of the owner of the properties.

There have been three complaints against the warehouse in the past 30 years.



Schaaf addressed specific complaints from Dec. 2014, Sept. 2014 and Nov. 2005. She also said the vacant lot next to the warehouse was used as a parking lot and homeless camping ground which has had seven complaints lodged against it. Two of them were filed last month.

She said building inspectors followed routine procedure in responding to the complaints and after they were denied entry to the warehouse they sent a request to the building owner asking for access so they could investigate.
