Oakland Raiders fans mourn the loss of their Silver and Black

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- In the Bay Area, there's disappointment for long-time fans of the Silver and Black.

Feeling cheated, the heart of Raider Nation drown their sorrows in a drink. "You know what, I'm just a fan, just a simple fan. I work hard for my tickets, but today is a day of mourning," said Mark Acasio, also known as "Gorilla Rilla." "I feel like my wife left me."

Acasio hasn't missed a home game in 21 years. His reaction to Monday's NFL vote allowing the Raiders to leave for Las Vegas: "Are you kidding me Mark Davis? Are you going to do that to us? That's just wrong."

Some scorned fans dumped shredded Raiders gear in front of the team's Alameda headquarters. "We already moved to LA. We came back," said Ex-Raiders fan Celia Buagh. "There's no need to move again and Mark Davis is all about the money."

The City of Alameda says it'll lose money and jobs when the Raiders move. The team employs some 250 people locally.



"You know things happen," said Ricky Ricardo. "But nothing's in stone."

The owner of Ricky's Sports Bar holds out hope, as did Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. "There was an absolutely viable shovel-ready, fully-financed proposal on the table," she told ABC7 News. "Why the NFL made the choice that it did is a question that you will need to refer to them."

Ken Webb is known as Afro-deesiac will pay alimony in the form of season tickets, but he's emotionally divorced. "I just cannot attend any home games. I'll buy my season ticket, yes but I will not go to any home games this year," he said.

Others say it's a franchise worth following either in Oakland or Las Vegas.

"We'll see what happens," said Raiders podcaster Charlie Boots. "It's a dice roll for the Raiders right now."
