EAST BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- A computer glitch is being blamed for the false reporting of a massive power outage in the East Bay Wednesday evening, according to Pacific, Gas and Electric (PG&E).

The utility's website originally reported that more than 77,000 customers were without power in parts of Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito and Richmond.

However, that wasn't actually the case, all of those customers had power but PG&E says a technical error was reporting a massive outage.

The utility company has since deleted the post from it's website.
