This happened at the Civic Square Apartment complex off of Case Ave. and Bernal Ave.

A shelter-in-place order was issued during the standoff, but that was lifted about 10:30 a.m.

Pleasanton police originally reported the incident as a hostage situation but later sent an update saying it started as a domestic disturbance.

Authorities say the victim is safe.

The crisis negotiation team was brought in to help get the suspect out.
