PLEASANTON, Calif. (KGO) -- A suspect has been taken into custody without incident on Wednesday after a two-hour standoff in Pleasanton ended peacefully.

This happened at the Civic Square Apartment complex off of Case Ave. and Bernal Ave.

A shelter-in-place order was issued during the standoff, but that was lifted about 10:30 a.m.

Pleasanton police originally reported the incident as a hostage situation but later sent an update saying it started as a domestic disturbance.

Authorities say the victim is safe.

The crisis negotiation team was brought in to help get the suspect out.

After calling him on loud speakers and calling his phone, he eventually came out -- without any weapons.

Investigators stayed on scene to search the apartment.
