SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Someone is $10,000 richer after the San Francisco treasure hunt that garnered nationwide attention.

Organizers say someone found the treasure Tuesday after nearly three weeks of searching.

The hiding place was a cave near Battery Wagner in the Marin Headlands.



Yes, the San Francisco treasure was not actually buried in the city -- though the original rules just said it was within seven miles of City Hall.
