In total, 90 students -- many of them children of agriculture workers or manufacturing workers -- are trying to raise $72,000 in the next few weeks to pay their way.
Dedicated student musicians with "Mariachi Lobos de Elsie Allen High School" in Santa Rosa have a passion for the music of their parents and grandparents.
"I started on the guitar and the instrument I play, which is the vihuela," said student Aaron Gonzalez.
"I've always grown up around it with my parents always playing it," said student Octavio Infan.
Now, they're hoping to share that love with an entirely new and "magical" community.
"We will be the first mariachi to go to Disneyland from the North area of California," said student Nellie Roman.

The mariachi band is invited to perform at Disney California Adventure on June 11th.
"There are very committed, very dedicated kids that are just bursting with energy and passion and dedication for the musical genre of mariachi," said Efrain Nava, Band and Mariachi Director.
But they, along with the marching bands of Elsie Allen High and Santa Rosa Language Academy, need to raise a lot more money get all 90 students there.
"The parents have raised almost $30,000. The trip cost us $72,000. Each student needs to come up with about $800 in donations in order to go. To cover meals, transportation and hotel and of course admission," said Nava.
The group has launched an online fundraising drive and they hope you can make a donation.
The money will be used to pay for travel, hotel stays, and Disneyland admission.
Last year, the marching bands at Elsie Allen High School and Santa Rosa Language Academy teamed up and performed at Disneyland.
They raised money last year, but this year, it's been tough and Santa Rosa City Schools can't help.
"This year there wasn't enough resources to do that," said Patrick Cannon, a spokesperson for Santa Rosa School District.
The hope is that all the North Bay students will have a chance to showcase their heritage and shine.
"We are so incredibly proud of our Elsie Allen students, especially these mariachi students," said Cannon.
"Most of us don't have enough money to pay for the trip," said Roman. "Would mean a lot to me and a lot of the mariachi."
If you'd like to help, donors can also pay by check, made out to Elsie Allen High School. Drop off or mail: 599 Bellevue Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Include note on memo line "for music dept."
