Barricaded suspect who allegedly stole UPS truck arrested after Fremont standoff

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- A suspect who allegedly stole a delivery truck is in custody after a standoff in Fremont overnight Thursday, police say.

Fremont Police say they responded to a UPS truck driving erratically in the area of Grimmer Blvd and Auto Mall Parkway after 1:30 a.m. It was confirmed that the truck had been stolen, and officers chased the suspect.



Police say the suspect barricaded themselves in the vehicle after it was disabled. Video shows the suspect being taken into custody around 5:40 a.m. after crawling out from under the truck.

Officials are asking that you avoid the area.
