It's not just the same. Desert ash really sticks to cars and gets in hard-to-clean places, despite efforts by festivalgoers to keep the dust out.
"We actually used industrial plastic wrapping and just ran around the car 15, 20 times to protect it a little bit," tourist Pjar Aron Saxin said.
The $100 price does not include any special treatment. The added cost is just to run the vehicle through the wash three times to get all the grime out.
