MARTINEZ, Calif. (KGO) -- The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating an in-custody death that occurred Friday afternoon.

A sheriff's office spokesman said on Twitter at 8:13 p.m. that the sheriff's office and the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office are jointly investigating the death at the Martinez Detention Facility.
A call to the spokesman for further details has not yet been returned.
