Dead gray whale at Moss Beach appears to have been killed by an orca, wildlife experts say

MOSS BEACH, Calif. (KGO) -- Marine wildlife experts are working to determine the cause of death for a gray whale that washed ashore at Moss Beach.

They say initial signs suggest the whale was killed by an orca.

The whale washed up on the beach on Sunday, and a new video taken on Monday shows the animal still on the shoreline.

Scientists are evaluating tissue samples and expect to have more information in the coming weeks.
