All eastbound I-580 lanes reopen in Oakland at Seminary Ave. after freeway shooting, CHP says

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- All lanes on eastbound I-580 reopened just after 10 p.m. Saturday after a shooting left lanes blocked for hours on the freeway.



Police say they were called to the scene just after 2 p.m. at eastbound I-580 near Seminary Avenue.

At the time of the investigation it appeared that two occupants in the victim vehicle were struck by gunfire in the shooting, CHP said.

"The victim driver arrived at a hospital in San Leandro for treatment, however both victims have since been transported to other hospitals capable of providing a higher level of care," police said in a statement.

All lanes of eastbound I-580 were closed just after 3 p.m. and remained closed for hours. Drivers were asked to use alternative routes while police investigated.
