LIST: Tahoe ski resorts 2026-27 opening dates

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- It may only be August, but the countdown to ski season is officially on! Several Lake Tahoe resorts have announced their opening dates.

This is in line with the usual start of ski season, but officials warn that opening depends on the weather conditions.

Here's the list of opening dates for the 2026-27 ski season:

• Heavenly: Nov. 20

• Northstar: Nov. 20

• Mt. Rose: Nov. 20

• Palisades Tahoe: Nov. 25

• Boreal Mountain: Nov. 27

• Kirkwood: Dec. 4
