Forward progress stopped on 64 acre brush fire burning near Sunol, CAL FIRE says

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- A wildfire burning in Sunol in Alameda County on Monday is at 64 acres and 75% containment, according to Cal Fire just before 7 p.m.

The once fast-moving blaze dubbed the Mission Fire was reported just after 1:30 p.m. near Mission and Andrade roads in Sunol and reached 50 acres quickly.

By 4:30 p.m. it was at 66 acres. Due to better mapping, Cal Fire now says the fire is 64 acres and holding steady.

There have been no injuries reported or damage to structures. Crews will remain through the night to gain full containment.
