OAKLAND, Calif. -- Two Oakland police officers were injured after being dragged and pinned by an armed suspect's car during a chaotic traffic stop early Friday morning that ended in the suspect being shot.

The Oakland Police Department says the incident happened around 3:15 a.m. Friday at 9th Avenue and International Boulevard in the Eastlake neighborhood. When officers pulled over the suspect, they saw a gun in plain sight.

The suspect allegedly tried to drive away, dragging one officer and pinning another between the suspect's vehicle and a parked car.

One officer then shot the suspect, whose name, age and gender weren't released.

The officers provided aid to the suspect until paramedics arrived, police said.

The suspect and two officers were taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition. Sources tell ABC7 Eyewitness News that the officers have been released from the hospital.

The officers were placed on paid administrative leave and investigations are underway by the Oakland Police Department, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office and the city's Community Police Review Agency.

No additional information was provided by Oakland police Friday morning.
