Old school fire detection tactics still relied on in Marin County

MILL VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Year after year of California drought keeps increasing the possibility of a devastating wildfire season.While firefighters rely on a lot of technology to stay ahead of the flames, it's not all about the latest gadgets.

Sometimes, it just takes one person. On Mt. Tamalpais there is one of only 89 fire lookouts that remain manned in the state. Watch the video player above for Wayne Freedman's full report.
