SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- PG&E wants to charge you more - so shareholders can get a reward.
The utility says it saved customers $170 million on natural gas purchases in one year and, under an existing incentive program, shareholders receive a share of those savings.
PG&E is asking state regulators to approve a $26 million shareholder payment. If approved, the plan would add about 41 cents a month to the average residential gas bill.
