Rare corpse flower, known for its foul odor, blooms at SF's Conservatory of Flowers

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A rare and rotten phenomenon is drawing crowds to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park this weekend.

A corpse flower is in bloom at the Conservatory of Flowers.

The flower, named Scarlet, started blooming Wednesday evening.

The Conservatory stayed open late and sold-out tickets for people trying to catch a whiff of the flower's foul odor.



The bloom is expected to last only 48 hours. Tickets are still available for today.
