Runaway dog rescued after spending 2 days in SF Caltrain tunnel

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A runaway dog is now home safe after spending two days in a San Francisco Caltrain tunnel.

Animal Care and Control says train operators spotted the dog, named Roo, and thought at first that he'd been hit by a train.

But then they saw him move and realized he wasn't hurt, but was just hunkered down.

Wildlife officials braved the dark Caltrain tunnel to rescue Roo.



Then they learned he had recently been adopted and was microchipped, so they were able to reunite him with his owner.
