SB I-880 lanes reopened in Hayward after fatal crash

HAYWARD, Calif. -- All lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward have reopened this morning after a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist and a truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 6:01 a.m. on the highway near the connector to state Highway 92 and the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge.

The motorcyclist died in the crash. More information about the victim were not immediately available this morning, CHP officials said.

The crash blocked lanes of the highway for more than two hours. All lanes reopened as of shortly before 8:40 a.m., according to the CHP.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
