San Francisco officials approve Google shuttles to share Muni stops

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency has approved a plan to make the city's controversial Google commuter shuttle program permanent.

An 18-month pilot program that was in place had allowed shuttles like Google buses use white-painted curbs for a nominal fee.

Tech companies say the shuttles help the environment and ease traffic. But opponents say tech workers who live near stops are driving up rent prices.
