SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- People who have had their cars stolen and then towed in San Francisco will soon go through a little less pain to get their car back.
Starting Tuesday, the Municipal Transportation Agency will waive most fees for victims. It will also give them a longer grace period to retrieve their stolen cars before storage fees start accumulating.

But there's a catch.
In order to qualify, drivers must file a police report, which has to be verified before the stolen car can be recovered.
