SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The breathtaking Harvest Moon, a symbolic shift from summer to fall, rose over the Bay Area on Friday night. Because it rises low on the horizon, it appears big, bright and red.

ABC7 News Meteorlogist Sandhya Patel said the full moon was expected to rise at 7:28 p.m. Friday.
