Water main break floods Los Angeles streets, creates massive sinkhole in West Hollywood

Updated 1 hour ago
WEST HOLLYWOOD (KGO) -- A massive cleanup operation is underway in Los Angeles and West Hollywood, after a 36-inch water main broke early Thursday morning.

Video shows all the water rushing down Sunset Boulevard at Holloway Drive. It started just after 3 a.m. Thursday.

The water flooded surrounding streets, inundating a bus yard -- and flooding underground garages, damaging several cars.

The break caused a massive sinkhole on Sunset -- the busy street is likely to be closed for some time.

No one had to evacuated and water service was not impacted.
