Buddy's Cannabis on North 10th Street in San Jose received one of the first on Thursday.

Buddy's owner, Matt Lucero, says that "means that we have a license to sell retail, to distribute products, to cultivate and to manufacture all on site on our 21,000 square foot building."
Voters approved Proposition 64 last year, legalizing the use and sale of recreational marijuana in California.

The Bureau of Cannabis Control just posted the licensing application forms online last Friday and dozens of potential businesses have completed the process.
The agency says it could have several hundred businesses fully approved for people looking to purchase recreational marijuana on January first.
