It kicked off Monday and goes through Wednesday.

Families also get a turkey, chicken or ham. A big reason Sacred Heart does this is so families can continue their holiday traditions without taking money away from the monthly bills.
"That's like me, you work a lot of hours. You know, my girlfriend works a lot of hours just to provide for our family and pay our rent, which is kind of outrageous. We work our butts off every day. So we do what we got to do to survive here in Silicon Valley," said San Jose resident, Danny Leyva.
It's not just food being given away at Sacred Heart this week. There are 6,200 kids registered for the "Toy Box." Parents will be able to pick out some toys and books for their families on Thursday and Friday.

But Sacred Heart is short about 8,000 toys.
